You’re totally correct Paul; I’ve been too reserved on this here blog I’ll remember to take the gloves off next week okay?

Reminds me of a funny incident at a seminar I was speaking at. I remember this one lady got me confused with a motivational speaker… you know the type. Someone who revs you up, makes you feel good for awhile, but there’s no real substance to their words so the euphoria is short-lived. With me?

Anyway, she cornered me by blocking the entrance. She told me about her life, how things aren’t working out, how her friends are back-stabbing bitches, how she’s always broke, how her husband is a lazy bum, and then she asked me what she should do to bring wealth into her life.

Without hesitation I replied: “Stop bitching and moaning and get busy.”

I guess that brought an end to my motivational speaking career.

Pete, you pussy. When are ya gunna tell it like it really is instead of sugar coating it and dancing around the topic? Sheeezz.

You’re just way too tactful and ‘nice’ for your own good.

How about ‘Get real or end of deal’, or ‘Step up or get squashed like a fat blowfly’ or ‘You’re in my face and you know what I do with zits’ or ‘Put it in writing or put yourself in Loserville’.

Aaaaahhh, but have to agree with the comments that to read your words are to hear you’re voice. OK, gotta go, I can hear several video editing deadlines calling.

G’day Pete,

A couple of things this time Pete. Being the Unreasonable Man and expecting a sense of urgency would also have to include business partners as well. Someone I know had to part company with their partner after finding that many requests to get together to get something done was met with… well nothing. Not even a response. I guess they’re either in alignment with where you’re headed in business or not.
As for WRITTEN instructions being the best way to communicate, I whole-heartedly agree. It’s something the Military has been using for great success to organise over 50000 members towards a common goal.

Everything you say in this post is very true! I love that you are so brutally honest!!
After meeting with you and the other private wealth group members. Hayden & I know that even though we have been working hard, we realised how much harder we need to work. We need to have unreasonable expectations of not only others but also of ourselves.

Hey Corinne, that’s funny, my newsletter members say the same thing, they can hear me, picture me telling them the advice… kinda spooky when you think about it

Anyway, we all have our blind spots (just ask my wife)… being aware is half the battle.

And yes, what got done is the main point. Not who has been busy? What got done?

It’s so funny Pete, when I read your blogs I always hear your voice telling it to me.
This article was exactly what I needed today, so thanks for your great timing. From now on I must put instructions and deadlines in writing – for staff and clients. Wow, I’m excited at all the headaches to be saved! Why did I need someone to point this out? Thanks for pointing it out Pete.
Also a good reminder to ask what actually got done at the end of each day. I have to stop allowing ‘doing’ to be acceptable. ‘Done’ is my new daily mantra now.
